Google’s quality rater guidelines say “Trust is the most important member of the E-E-A-T family.”

But how does AI actually evaluate trust? Humans can sense trustworthiness through design, tone, and gut feeling. AI presumably needs more concrete signals.

What I’m trying to understand:

  • What specific trust signals do AI systems look for?
  • How do you demonstrate trust in content?
  • Can AI verify trust claims, or does it go on patterns?
  • What destroys trust for AI?

We focus a lot on expertise content, but maybe we’re missing the trust foundation.

Yes, to a significant degree.

AI systems can:

Verify Existence:

  • Is this author mentioned on LinkedIn?
  • Do they have publications elsewhere?
  • Are they cited by others?

Check Consistency:
