One URL, or a batch, sent through the Bing Indexing API
The URLs field takes one URL per line: a single line makes a single request, and multiple lines switch automatically to the batch route, up to 500 URLs. Every URL must match the mapped Bing site's scheme, host and path prefix, or it's rejected before anything is sent. The Bing Indexing API reads quota first and refuses the call outright if daily or monthly quota is already exhausted, then sends the list and reads quota again — Quota after submission sits next to Quota before submission so the consumed allowance is visible, not inferred.

IndexNow: one push, every engine that listens
IndexNow tells Bing, Yandex and other IndexNow engines the moment a URL changes, instead of waiting for their next crawl. It needs a key file hosted on your domain, which proves you own the URLs you submit — a domain with no key yet is offered Generate a key or I already have a key, and from then on every change can reach every participating engine in one push. A generated key is a random 32-character hexadecimal string; a key you supply yourself must be 8-128 letters, digits or hyphens. Keys are encrypted at rest, decrypted only to show you the exact verification file contents. Replacing or regenerating a key keeps your auto-submit setting as-is, but the hosted file has to be updated to match.

Five outcomes, one message — no per-URL breakdown
IndexNow returns one status for the whole batch, not a row per URL. Accepted means the engines were notified, not that anything is indexed yet. Key invalid means the hosted verification file doesn't match what was submitted, so check the exact filename, content and URL first. URLs mismatched host means at least one URL fell outside the bare or www form of the tracked domain, and a single request can't mix the two. Rate limited means wait and retry; unknown error passes through whatever the protocol client reported. Direct Bing submission works differently: it has no status codes of its own, just quota before and after, so a successful call is evidence Bing received it, not that it's indexed.

- ✓Manual IndexNow has no confirmation dialog — unlike direct Bing submission, sending is immediate; direct Bing submission asks you to confirm the URL count first.
