AmICited is a website uptime monitoring tool that checks your domain and key pages every 1 to 5 minutes for downtime, slow responses, SSL problems and expiring domains. A homepage monitor automatically gets SSL, DNS and domain-expiry health added to its detail view — no separate setup. If you run paid campaigns, catching an outage fast protects the spend and the revenue behind it.
Uptime Monitor Types
Website monitoring works differently for a homepage than for a checkout flow. AmICited supports HTTP for pages and endpoints, TCP for raw ports, DNS for domain resolution and expiry, and Transaction for full multi-step flows like a real signup or purchase — with five states per monitor: pending, up, degraded, down, or maintenance.
- HTTP, TCP, DNS and Transaction monitors — validate status codes and keyword presence, test a raw host and port, verify A/AAAA/CNAME/MX/TXT/NS records, or run one-to-ten-step transactions with variable extraction and assertions.
- 1, 5, 10, 30 or 60 minute intervals — set the cadence per monitor; 1- and 5-minute checks are the fastest tier for a checkout flow worth protecting closely.
- SSL and domain expiry included — get warned before a certificate or a domain registration lapses, not after.
- Notification recipients per monitor — route alerts to selected workspace users, or to Slack or a webhook, with alerts on degraded checks and a configurable repeat interval.
Uptime Status and Availability
The detail dashboard shows 24-hour, 7-day, 30-day and 90-day uptime with average response time. The 24-hour strip is 96 fixed 15-minute cells; the 90-day strip is one cell per UTC day. Grey is absence of evidence, not downtime — it means no check ran in that window, so a young monitor reads grey before it reads green.
- 24-hour strip — green means every check in that 15-minute cell was healthy, amber means at least one was degraded, red means at least one was down.
- 90-day strip — green is at least 99% uptime that day, amber is 90% to under 99%, red is below 90%.
- Response-time chart — average milliseconds, hourly at 24 hours and daily beyond that, axis floor at zero rounded up to a clean multiple of five.
- Hover for exact values — the bucket’s time or date and precise uptime, not just the color.
Uptime and Heartbeat Monitoring
HTTP and TCP monitors watch public endpoints. The backup job, the nightly import, the queue worker — none of them get hit by a visitor, so pair uptime monitors with Heartbeat Monitoring to catch the failures no one else would notice.
- Unique ping URL per job — your job calls it after every successful run.
- Grace period, configurable — extra time allowed before a missed ping counts as an incident.
- One incident system — heartbeat misses and monitor downtime land in the same place.
- Public embeds from one opaque token — enable a monitor’s public token for its live uptime badge plus 24-hour and 90-day SVG availability charts. Revoking that token disables every public embed using it without deleting the monitor.
