AI search engines mention Zapier in 1.9% of their answers to AmICited’s 1,905 tracked prompts — most in Gemini (2.9%), least in Google AI Overviews (0.9%), and it is the #37 most-mentioned brand of 17,946.
Between June 24, 2026 and July 23, 2026, AmICited ran 1,905 tracked prompts through five AI search engines and recorded every AI brand mention each answer named. Zapier was mentioned in 373 of 19,279 responses — a 1.9% mention rate — making it the #37 most-mentioned brand of 17,946 across the whole tracked set. A “mention” counts whether or not the answer linked to Zapier: in AI search, being named is a distinct and often larger prize than being linked. The sections below break Zapier’s presence down by engine, by query, by link status, and over time.
Zapier sits between the two patterns this series has found
This page is the fourth in a short run of single-brand reports, and Zapier is the one that doesn’t fit cleanly into either pattern the others established. Slack (93% name-only) and PayPal (96% name-only) behave like infrastructure — named by default, rarely linked. Bloomreach (78% linked) behaves like a specialist that earns citations to specific content. Zapier’s 35% linked rate lands in between: common enough to get named in passing like Slack, but specific enough — “connect X to Y via Zapier,” a concrete workflow claim — that an assistant frequently backs it with an actual link roughly a third of the time.
| Brand | Mention rate | Linked | Name-only | Pattern |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bloomreach | 2.5% | 78% | 22% | Specialist — cited for specific content |
| Zapier | 1.9% | 35% | 65% | Mixed — named often, linked sometimes |
| Slack | 2.0% | 7% | 93% | Infrastructure — named by default |
| PayPal | 2.5% | 4% | 96% | Infrastructure — named by default |
Zapier mention rate by AI engine
Zapier’s AI visibility is strongly engine-dependent. Gemini names it most, in 2.9% of its answers, while Google AI Overviews trails at 0.9% — a 3× gap between the same brand’s best and worst engine. The other engines average 1.5%. That spread matters practically: a brand can lead in one assistant and be nearly invisible in another, so “AI visibility” is never a single number — it is a per-engine scorecard, and Zapier sits above the cross-engine norm here.
The underlying numbers
| AI engine | Responses analyzed | Mentioning Zapier | Mention rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gemini | 5,123 | 147 | 2.9% |
| ChatGPT | 5,119 | 113 | 2.2% |
| Perplexity | 3,052 | 42 | 1.4% |
| Google AI Mode | 3,975 | 52 | 1.3% |
| Google AI Overviews | 2,010 | 19 | 0.9% |
The questions that surface Zapier
Zapier mentions concentrate in specific queries: 108 of 1,898 tracked prompts (6%) produced at least one Zapier mention. These are the kinds of questions that pull Zapier into AI answers:
- “Need software for keeping manifestation journals, library notes, and session history organized?”
- “How can a small tarot business track appointments, readings, and client records in one place?”
- “HubSpot alternatives for an all-in-one marketing automation, CRM, and service platform?”
- “Recommend a service to track my company’s presence in AI chatbot answers in real time”
- “Best tools to automate lead generation and pipeline management for small businesses?”
- “Can an AI agent rewrite product descriptions and meta tags in Shopify automatically?”
- “What no-code AI tools can automate SEO content and publishing for a marketing team?”
That is where Zapier already owns share of voice — and the query themes a competitor would have to contest to displace it. As with Slack’s report in this same series, one of these queries — “Recommend a service to track my company’s presence in AI chatbot answers in real time” — is effectively a request for a tool like AmICited, with Zapier surfacing as the likely integration layer for automating that tracking workflow. Seeing the same self-referential prompt surface two different brands in two different reports is a small but genuine confirmation that AmICited’s tracked-prompt set includes real questions about AI-visibility tooling itself, not just the SaaS/e-commerce topics that dominate the rest of this data. It’s also a fitting detail for a report about Zapier specifically, given how many of the queries above involve AI agents automating workflows no-code — precisely the category Zapier itself has expanded into.
Real example: what an AmICited dashboard looks like for this kind of brand
Zapier itself isn’t in AmICited’s tracked client accounts, but a neighboring no-code/automation-adjacent product is: FlowHunt, the AI agent platform this report series runs on. Here’s its own AmICited dashboard, tracking its citation and visibility performance the same way this whole report series measures Zapier’s:

This isn’t a claim that FlowHunt and Zapier compete head-to-head — they don’t, directly. It’s included here as a concrete look at the other side of a report like this one: a brand actively watching its own mention and citation numbers move week to week, with the ability to drill into exactly which prompts and engines are driving them, rather than reading a static one-time snapshot. That’s the difference between this page (a fixed comparison across AmICited’s whole tracked-prompt set) and what a brand’s own account gives it: a live, continuously updated version of the same underlying measurement.
Is Zapier linked, or just named?
Of the times Zapier is referenced, 35% include a link and 65% are name-only (no citation). That heavy name-only share is typical: assistants routinely recommend a brand by name without offering a click — which is exactly the visibility that link-only citation tracking misses. For Zapier, the practical read is that most of its AI visibility is influence without a click.
Zapier mentions over time
Tracked day by day in Gemini (its strongest engine), Zapier’s mention rate moves around its 2.9% average with daily prompt volume rather than showing a clear trend across this window. A month is too short to call a durable direction, but this is the baseline series you would watch to catch a real gain or slide in Zapier’s AI share of voice.
What this means for AI-search visibility
If Zapier is your brand, this is your AI share-of-voice baseline: 1.9% overall, strongest in Gemini, and a 35/65 linked split that puts it between the “infrastructure” and “specialist” patterns this mini-series has surfaced. The practical implication is that Zapier has room to move in either direction: content that makes a specific, quotable automation workflow (“connect Google Sheets to Slack without code”) could push its linked share toward Bloomreach’s territory, while its broad brand recognition already gives it the name-only floor that Slack and PayPal enjoy.
Across the four single-brand pages in this series — Bloomreach, PayPal, Slack, and Zapier — the throughline is that the linked/name-only split is a more useful diagnostic than the mention rate itself. Two brands can have a near-identical mention rate (PayPal and Bloomreach both around 2.5%) and mean completely different things about how AI engines treat them. Before optimizing for “more mentions,” it’s worth figuring out which pattern your brand currently falls into.
Because these figures come from AmICited’s tracked prompts (weighted toward SaaS, e-commerce and support topics), they describe Zapier’s standing for that kind of question; a different audience’s prompt mix could shift the numbers, which is why tracking your own prompts — the way FlowHunt does in the dashboard above — is the only way to know your true position.
Methodology
Computed from AmICited’s 1,905 tracked prompts (June 24, 2026 – July 23, 2026, 2026) across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Gemini. A response “mentions Zapier” when AmICited’s brand detection identifies the brand in the answer text, whether or not a link is present; each response is counted once. The per-engine rate is mentioning-responses over that engine’s total responses; the overall figure pools all five. The link-vs-name-only split counts individual brand references. Microsoft Copilot is tracked but returned no citation data in this window. No external links appear in this report.
