How to Manually Add a Competitor in AmICited
Add a competitor by URL in AmICited to track their domain and turn the keywords they rank for into monitored prompts — for rivals AmICited hasn't auto-detected.
Auto-detection catches the brands cited alongside you, but sometimes you already know a rival you want to watch. Add competitor lets you track any competitor by URL — and even pull the keywords they rank for into your monitored prompts.

Tip
Adding a competitor here does double duty: it tracks their domain in your competitor charts and can turn the keywords they rank for into new tracked prompts — a fast way to expand your monitoring around a known rival.
Where to find it
Click + Add Competitor in the top-right of the Competitors page. A dialog opens: “Track a competitor by URL and monitor the keywords they rank for.”
Step by step
- Enter the competitor’s URL in the Competitor URL field.
- (Optional) Click Get top keywords to pull the keywords that competitor ranks for — these can become monitored prompts.
- Confirm the details — the Detected domain and an editable Brand name.
- Set the Country, Tag and Schedule for any prompts created from this competitor.
- Click Add competitor. As the dialog notes, “the competitor’s domain is tracked; selected keywords become monitored prompts.”
When to use it
- For known rivals AmICited hasn’t auto-detected yet.
- To seed prompts from a competitor’s keyword footprint, expanding your tracked set around their strengths.
- For niche competitors that don’t co-occur with you often enough to be detected but still matter to your strategy.
Once added, the competitor appears in Tracked competitors and in your Share-of-voice chart, right alongside the ones you added from the detected list.
