This guide takes you from a new account to your first AI answers. The onboarding wizard has four steps (domain, preferences, prompts, integrations), and once the first answer lands the dashboard unlocks on its own. You can change every choice you make here later.
An account.Sign in or create one. AmICited is part of FlowHunt, so it shares one workspace, one billing account and one credit balance with it.
A plan or a trial. The trial runs for 7 days, needs a card, and includes 5 welcome credits, 1 domain and up to 5 prompts. See plans and limits.
Five minutes of thinking about your buyers. The single biggest factor in useful data is asking the questions real buyers ask. Skim choosing the right prompts if you have time.
Enter your Website homepage URL. AmICited detects the domain and auto-fills the Brand name from it.
Check the brand name carefully: it is how your brand is recognized in AI answers. If buyers know you as “Acme” but your domain is acme-software.com, set the brand name to “Acme”. Details in Add a domain.
Set your preferences
Tracked from: the country the questions are asked from (default United States). The query language follows the country. See countries and languages.
Frequency: how often each prompt re-runs (default daily). See run frequency.
AI providers: every available engine is selected by default; keep at least one. See AI engines.
Choose your prompts
AmICited suggests prompts from your site (“Suggested from your site”). Edit them, remove the weak ones, and add your own with Add another prompt. Below them you may see Keywords you rank for: keywords your site already ranks for in search, which you can add as prompts too.
The counter shows how many prompts your plan allows. You can also choose Skip for now and add prompts later from the Prompts page.
Pick integrations (optional)
Choose any of Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, ChatGPT Ads or Google Ads that you want to connect. Nothing is connected yet; you finish the connection after setup from Data Sources. Click Finish setup.
Wait for the first answers
A setup screen (“Crawling the AI web for {your brand}”) shows each engine being queried. This usually takes a minute or two. The dashboard unlocks automatically as soon as the first AI answer lands; the remaining engines keep filling in behind it.
The dashboard opens on the last 30 days. Three numbers matter first:
Visibility score: the share of your prompts in which any engine named your brand. With 5 prompts, being named in 2 of them gives 2 ÷ 5 × 100 = 40.0%.
Share of voice: your share of all brand mentions in those answers, against every brand the engines named.
Not ranked: the prompts where you were not named at all. This is your first to-do list.
Then open any prompt from Prompts to see each engine’s actual answer, the brands it named in order, and the pages it cited. The metrics overview explains how to read the numbers together.
The first day is a sample, not a trend
One run per engine is a small sample, and AI answers vary from run to run. Give daily prompts a week before reading much into movements, and compare periods of the same length.
Onboarding covers the essentials. Three things are worth doing in the first week:
Add competitors on the Competitors page. AmICited already detects every brand named in your answers; adding the ones you care about keeps them in your charts. See competitors.
Tag your prompts (for example by product line or funnel stage) so every dashboard figure can be filtered by tag. See tags.
Grow the prompt set to cover the whole buyer journey, using paste, CSV upload or suggestions from a URL. See adding prompts.
Each AI response (one prompt run on one engine) costs 0.015 credits. The trial’s 5 prompts on the 5 standard engines, run daily, make 25 responses a day:
5 prompts × 5 engines × 0.015 = 0.375 credits per day, or about 2.6 credits over the 7-day trial.
More frequent schedules and more engines use more credits. See credits for the full list of what is metered.
Everything in the dashboard is also available through the AmICited MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Codex can read your data and act on it. Open MCP in the app, copy the server URL, and follow Connect the MCP server.
# Quickstart
Add your domain, choose where and how often to track, pick your first prompts, and read your first AI visibility numbers in about ten minutes.
This guide takes you from a new account to your first AI answers. The onboarding wizard has four steps (domain, preferences, prompts, integrations), and once the first answer lands the dashboard unlocks on its own. You can change every choice you make here later.
## Before you start
- **An account.** [Sign in or create one](https://app.flowhunt.io/sign-in?app=amicited). AmICited is part of FlowHunt, so it shares one workspace, one billing account and one credit balance with it.

- **Five minutes of thinking about your buyers.** The single biggest factor in useful data is asking the questions real buyers ask. Skim [choosing the right prompts](/docs/setup/choosing-prompts/) if you have time.
## Set up your first domain
Enter your **Website homepage URL**. AmICited detects the domain and auto-fills the **Brand name** from it.
Check the brand name carefully: it is how your brand is recognized in AI answers. If buyers know you as "Acme" but your domain is `acme-software.com`, set the brand name to "Acme". Details in [Add a domain](/docs/setup/add-a-domain/).
- **Tracked from**: the country the questions are asked from (default United States). The query language follows the country. See [countries and languages](/docs/setup/countries-and-languages/).
- **Frequency**: how often each prompt re-runs (default daily). See [run frequency](/docs/setup/run-frequency/).
- **AI providers**: every available engine is selected by default; keep at least one. See [AI engines](/docs/setup/ai-engines/).
AmICited suggests prompts from your site ("Suggested from your site"). Edit them, remove the weak ones, and add your own with **Add another prompt**. Below them you may see **Keywords you rank for**: keywords your site already ranks for in search, which you can add as prompts too.
The counter shows how many prompts your plan allows. You can also choose **Skip for now** and add prompts later from the **Prompts** page.
Choose any of Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools, ChatGPT Ads or Google Ads that you want to connect. Nothing is connected yet; you finish the connection after setup from **Data Sources**. Click **Finish setup**.
